Torture fatality | Despite reconciliations with security services, 240 people held in regime’s prisons, over 35 died so far

As regime intelligence services continue their practice of torture in regime’s security prisons, SOHR activists have documented the death of a regime defector from Mahajjah town in Daraa countryside under torture in regime’s prisons. The victim was arrested a year and half ago and was taken at that time to Sednaya prison (known as the Slaughterhouse). It is worth noting that the regime defector had reconciled with security services after regime control of Daraa province.

According to SOHR statistics, nearly 240 ex-fighters and civilians in Daraa, Ghouta, Homs and Hama have been arrested by regime security services, despite the reconciliation deals they struck with security services, under Russian supervision and guarantee. Among the total number of prisoners with settled-status, there were 35 people mostly from Daraa and Al-Rukban camp, who died under torture in regime’s prisons so far.
