Al-Hasakeh | Turkish-backed factions storm and loot Assyrian village near the dividing line with “Peace Spring” areas

SOHR sources say that Turkish-backed factions stormed the village of Dibs, near the M4 road west of Tal Tamer town in Al-Hasakeh countryside.

According to Observatory sources, more than 10 vehicles carrying fighters of Turkish-backed factions, stormed the village and looted civilians’ homes and left in less than an hour.

The village of Al-Dibs is on the dividing line between the SDF-held areas and the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions, and is free of military presence, and is inhabited by Assyrian families, many of whom have been displaced.

On June 15, SOHR activists said that dozens of residents in the villages of Bab al-Khair, Jan Tamer and Um Ushbeh in western rural Ras al-Ain in the areas of “Peace Spring”, held a demonstration against the practices of Turkish-backed factions, such as attacking citizens and stealing agricultural crops and burning them.

Meanwhile, factions’ members opened fire on demonstrators to disperse them, injuring two people.
