HTS repression | Checkpoints on high alert, preventing students from reaching regime-held areas for school exams

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored HTS checkpoints on high alert in eastern parts of Idlib province, in order to prevent students from crossing into regime-held areas for performing their preparatory and secondary certification exams there.

According to SOHR sources, HTS checkpoints confiscated a large number of students’ IDs.

Meanwhile, checkpoints which separate HTS-controlled areas from areas under the control of Turkish-backed factions in northern Idlib are also on high alert, preventing students from reaching to regime-controlled areas via the rebels-held areas in northern Aleppo.

On Wednesday, reliable sources told SOHR that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham prevented tens of students from crossing into regime-held areas for performing their preparatory and secondary certification exams there.

Several students headed in 25 mini-buses to Tarnabeh crossing, which separates regime-held areas from areas under the control of HTS and opposition factions, but HTS checkpoint stopped them and prevented them from continuing their way. HTS members also took the students’ IDs.
