Growing tension | U.S. and Russian soldiers engage in hand-to-hand fight in Al-Qahtaniyah town (Tirbespi)

Reliable sources have told SOHR that U.S. and Russian soldiers engaged in a hand-to-hand fight near Al-Qahtaniyah town (Tirbespi) in the north-eastern countryside of Al-Hasakah.

According to SOHR sources, the fight erupted after Russian and American vehicles chased each others in southern Al-Qahtaniyah which evolved to a hand-to-hand fight. Meanwhile, an SDF vehicle was broke down during the chase.

On June 13, SOHR sources said that a Russian patrol of eight military vehicles headed from Al-Qamishly and to Tall Tamr. On their way to Tal Tamr, the Russian vehicles passed through U.S. checkpoints deployed on the M4 highway near Tal Baydar, but they did not stop. U.S. vehicles rushed to pursue the Russians, only 200 metres away from the U.S. base in Tal Baydar, amid growing tension between the two sides.

While on June 3, Observatory sources reported that U.S. forces prevented a patrol of Russian “military police” from entering Al-Malikiyah city (Dayrik) in Al-Hasakah countryside in the far north-eastern Syria near Turkey border. This incident came in the shadow of the return of skirmishes between both sides in NE Syria.

Security chaos in SDF-held areas | Body of SDF fighter found in western Deir ez-Zor

Deir ez-Zor province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that locals found today the body of a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), shot dead, near his guard post on the bank of the Euphrates River on the outskirts of the village of Hamar al-Ali, west of Deir ez-Zor province.

The number of fighters, civilians, oil workers and officials in service agencies who were assassinated in four provinces: Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa and Al-Hasakah, in addition to Manbij area in northeastern Aleppo province, which is controlled by SDF, increased to 521 persons.

The Syrian Observatory has documented the assassination of 175 civilians by armed cells, including 14 children and eight women in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, Al-Hasakah countryside, Raqqa city and countryside and Manbij, in addition to the assassination of 340 fighters of SDF, including local leaders in the same areas, while four members of the International Coalition were killed, dozens of wounded were also reported by SOHR as a result of those assassinations.

Idlib | Regime snipers shoot dead two young people in eastern countryside

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the killing of two young men after being shot by regime snipers stationed on the outskirts of Taftnaz town in the eastern countryside of Idlib, while farming their land in the area.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the death of a civilian after being shot by regime snipers stationed in the east of Taftanaz town, east of Idlib city, while working on his land.

IED attack | Explosion injures two Turkish soldiers in northern Aleppo

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have monitored an IED explosion on the road between Jazar and Azaz in the northern countryside of Aleppo which is under the control of Turkish forces and their proxies.

According to SOHR sources, the IED exploded as a vehicle affiliated to Turkish forces was passing, injuring two Turkish soldiers.

On Tuesday, SOHR activists reported hearing an explosion nearby Azaz city in the northern countryside of Aleppo. The explosion was caused by the detonation of an IED in a bus affiliated to the Turkish-backed “police and general security” on the road between Shemarin and Sajju. The explosion left many injured and caused material damage to the bus.

Al-Hasakah | Asayish member killed by mistake in armed fight in Tal Tamr

SOHR, On Jun 18, 2020

Syrian Observatory activists have documented the killing of a member of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) by mistake, while two women and civilian sustained injuries, because of an armed fight among civilians.

The fight erupted after a dispute among the civilians, while the “Civil Council” of Tal Al-Faydah village in Tal Tamr countryside in rural Al-Hasakah was distributing aid on the village’s locals.
