HTS bans formation of general confederation of syndicates in northern Syria

Reliable sources have told SOHR that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) has banned the formation of a general confederation of syndicates and unions in areas under its control in northern Syria.

 

According to SOHR sources, an HTS security group stormed headquarters in Bab Al-Hawa area on the border with Iskenderun in northern Idlib, where a meeting was holding in order to form a general confederation of syndicates. One of HTS security officials of the raiding group asked the attendance to close the meeting, preventing them from forming a general confederation of syndicates.

 

The goal of the meeting was to structure a formation bringing all syndicates in northern Syria together under one entity in an attempt to unite their decisions, so that the syndicates’ role in civil management in northern Syria would be effective.
