Northern rural Homs | Arrest of member in “Tiger Forces” militia triggers security tension

Homs Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that a group belonging to the Military Intelligence branch in Homs arrested yesterday a member of the settlement groups working for the “Tiger Forces” in the area of Talbiseh, north of Homs.

On the other hand, members of the “Tiger Forces” attacked a detachment of the Military Intelligence at the entrance to the city of Talbiseh, arresting non-commissioned officer, after which the town witnessed security tension between these factions. Meanwhile, mediators intervened to resolve the dispute between the “Tiger Forces” and members of the Military Intelligence detachment, which ended up by releasing the two detained members.

In April, regime forces launched a massive security campaign and raids in Al-Houla, Tal Al-Thahab, Kafr Laha, Talbiseh and other areas north of Homs, arresting more than 55 civilians and ex-figters of the opposition factions who git their status settled.

The raids were accompanied by heavy gunfire, while regime forces were put on high alert, bringing in reinforcement to checkpoints and setting up makeshift checkpoints in the aforementioned areas.
