For third day | Backed by intensive artillery firepower, regime forces try to infiltrate into Jabal Al-Zawiya

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored this evening artillery shelling by regime forces and loyalists, targeting the frontlines of the villages of Al-Rawiha, Benin and the perimetre of Deir Sunbol and Al-Bara in Jabal al-Zawiya, coinciding with an infiltration attempt by regime forces into the village of Benin for the third day in a row.

SOHR sources have reported earlier that fierce clashes in Jabal Al-Zawiyah between the factions of “National Liberation Front” on one side, and regime forces and loyalists on the other, lasted until the early hours of Thursday morning. The clashes followed a new attempt by regime forces to advance on Bayanin frontline as first attempt failed yesterday evening.

The clashes were accompanied by intensive shelling. While the factions managed to repel the second attack as well, along with the participation of Turkish forces which fired several rockets on regime positions.
