Factional conflict | Fierce clashes renew between HTS and “Hurras Al-Din” in western Idlib

As soon as tense calm prevails in the zones of conflict between Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and “Fa’ethbato” jihadi operation room, fierce clashes and exchange of fire return. Syrian Observatory activists have monitored renewed fierce clashes between the two sides in the western parts of Idlib city, as HTS attacked positions and posts which “Fa’ethbato” operation room advanced into during the past few hours.

 

According to SOHR sources, HTS has further clamped down on “Hurras Al-Din” organization, operating under the banner of “Fa’ethbato” operation room in Arab Said village in western Idlib, as HTS captured Armanaz well and the water purification station in the area. HTS swept Idlib Central Prison after capturing it.

 

SOHR sources have just reported that clashes between Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and “Fa’ethbato” jihadi operation room continued in the western parts of Idlib city until the early hours of Friday morning.

 

Meanwhile, “Fa’ethbato” operation room issued a statement announcing its readiness to remove its checkpoints for three days, under guarantee of “Junud Al-Sham” and “Ajnad Al-Quqaz”. During these three days, negotiations to be held regarding the prisoners and the judicial commission agreed upon to take up the raised issues, particularly the arrest of “Al-Uzbaki” and “Al-Talli” by HTS.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources said that the members of Huras al-Din organization withdrew from Al-Ya’qubiya checkpoint, after they captured it and expelled HTS members yesterday. Huras al-Din members headed later to the vicinity of Zarzour and Al-Hamamah villages, north of Jisr al-Shughour, after elders and sharia men intervened to defuse the conflict between the two sides in Jisr al-Shughour area.

 

HTS sent military reinforcement from its positions in Idlib areas towards the villages of Kafr Rohin, Ma’artin and Sahl al-Rouj area, west of Idlib city. HTS military vehicles and heavy gears were stationed near Idlib Central Prison after capturing it.

 

Meanwhile, seven members of Huras al-Din organization were killed and others injured, while three HTS members were also killed during the clashes between the two sides.

 

Accordingly, the death toll has risen to 19 fatalities since the start of fighting on June 23, and they are: 12 members of Huras al-Din, including a commander of foreign nationality, and seven HTS members.
