Deir Ezzor | Iranian forces redeploy in eastern countryside, and arrest four “collaborators” for “communicating with Israel”

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored Iranian forces and Iranian-backed Syrian and non-Syrian militias being on high alert in areas under their control in Deir Ezzor province, especially Al-Bokamal city and countryside. This alertness comes after yesterday’s strikes on Iranian positions in Al-Abbas village, which killed six Iranian-backed militiamen, including four Syrian militiamen.

According to SOHR sources, the Iranian forces intend to carry out several security campaigns targeting “collaborators” and Iranian-backed militiamen for “communicating with Israel”, as four “collaborators” have been already arrested for this charge.

Meanwhile, the Iranian-backed militias are being redeployed and boosting their positions in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. However, such movements are useless and have not helped the Iranian positions to evade the repeated airstrikes.

Yesterday, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that six pro-Iran militiamen, including four of Syrian nationality were killed as a result of airstrikes, which are believed to be Israeli.

The strikes targeted positions of regime forces and Iranian militias in Al-Abbas village in the countryside of Al-Bokamal city, east of Deir Ezzor.

On June 23, Observatory activists monitored Israeli strikes hitting several positions of Iranian-backed militias on Al-Sukhna-Deir Ezzor road in eastern Syria. The attack destroyed a military center of the militias, killing five militiamen, amid reports suggesting that others were injured, some seriously.
