Rural Daraa uprising | Demonstration in Tafas city calling for toppling regime and the expulsion of Iranian militias from Syria

Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR eyewitnesses say that a popular demonstration took place in the town of Tafas in the Daraa countryside, demanding the toppling of the regime and the expulsion of Iranian militias and Lebanon’s Hezbollah from the country.

Residents in the town of Kahil east of Daraa governorate, participated in the funeral of one of the members of the 8th Brigade of the Fifth Corps who was killed during clashes with regime forces yesterday in the town of Mahajeh.

The funeral turned into a demonstration. Participants chanted slogans against regime forces and security branches, demanding the toppling of the regime.

On June 26, Syrian Observatory activists monitored demonstrations, dubbed “the prisoners are not just numbers, save the detainees.”

Demonstrations took place in Al-Jiza town in eastern Daraa, and in Daraa Al-Balad, during which the demonstrators called for the toppling of the Syrian regime and the expelling of Iranian militias from Syria. The demonstrators lifted signboards with slogans written on them read “from the glorious Horan to the buster of Iran, this land is too precious to be ruled by Al-Assad militias” and “we demand the release of prisoners held in regime prisons – freedom, dignity and holding Al-Assad accountable are our legitimate demands”.
