Routine patrols | Russian forces tour areas in northern Al-Raqqah

Russian forces continue conducting routine patrols in areas where they are located in Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah countryside as a part of their attempts to entrench their presence in NE Syria.

In this context, SOHR sources say that Russian forces have run a patrol in the vicinity of Sherkrak area in northern Al-Raqqah.

Yesterday, SOHR sources said that military reinforcement of nearly 50 vehicles, including buses and Zil trucks carrying military personnel, affiliated to regime forces escorting by Russian armoured vehicles entered Ain Issa city in northern Al-Raqqah.

On the other hand, SOHR sources reported that regime forces boosted their positions on Abu Rasin frontline (Zarkan), north of Al-Hasakeh, bringing in military reinforcement of soldiers and heavy weapons, including long-range rocket launchers, heavy artillery pieces, sophisticated Russian weapons and modern electronic technologies.

Observatory sources added that these reinforcement were brought in during the past month, in parallel with intensive Russian movements in the area and conducting routine military patrols which surveyed Al-Assadiya village in order to set up an observation post there.

The village of Al-Assadiya separates the positions of regime forces and SDF from Turkish-backed factions.

SOHR sources reported earlier that day that Russian forces lowered the Russian flag fixed on Ain Issa military base in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah. The reasons behind this action were unknown whether the Russians intend to withdraw from the area or there is another reason.
