Back-and-forth battles | Opposition factions recapture positions in rural Idlib, following fierce clashes with regime forces

SOHR sources have reported that opposition factions were able to regain control of their positions in Al-Ruwayha frontline in Jabal al-Zawiya, south of Idlib.

The Syrian Observatory has monitored this evening an attempt to advance by regime forces and loyalists, after a failed attempt to advance in the village of Al-Ruwayha, south of Idlib, accompanied by heavy artillery and rocket firepower. Regime forces were able to advance and take control of several houses in the village, as the factions retreated due to intensive artillery shelling.

Regime forces shelled the factions’ positions on the frontlines of Jabal al-Zawiya, Safohn, Benin, Fleifel, Kansafra and Shenan in Idlib countryside, and Al-Ziyara and Al-Ankawi in Sahl Al-Ghab, north-west of Hama.

Meanwhile, the factions shelled regime forces’ positions in the village of Al-Dana and Idlib countryside. No casualties have been reported.
