“De-escalation zone” | Russian reconnaissance drones fly over Idlib, while regime forces renew shelling positions in Jabal Al-Zawiyah

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored Russian reconnaissance drones flying over Jabal Al-Zawiyah and the eastern countryside of Idlib. Meanwhile, regime forces shelled places in Al-Ruwayha, Bayanin and Sarjeh in the southern countryside of Idlib. No casualties have been reported.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that opposition factions regained control of positions in Al-Ruwayha frontline in Jabal al-Zawiyah, south of Idlib. Regime forces and loyalists had advanced into these positions following intense rocket and artillery shelling which paved the way for regime forces to capture several houses in the village, as the factions retreated due to intensive artillery fire.

On the other hand, regime forces shelled the factions’ positions on the frontlines of Jabal al-Zawiyah, Sfuhen, Bayanin, Fulayfel, Kansafra and Shenan in Idlib countryside, Al-Ziyara and Al-Ankawi in Sahl Al-Ghab, north-west of Hama.
