After three months of suspension | SDF “military police” resume campaigns of military conscription

Syrian Observatory activists say that SDF “military police” resumed their campaigns for drafting young people to military service in areas under the control of Syria Democratic Forces. SOHR activists have monitored broad deployment of “military police” in Al-Darbasiyah, Tal Tamr and other areas in eastern Euphrates region, along with arresting several people driving them to mandatory service. These campaigns comes after three months of suspension under a decree by the Autonomous Administration.

On April 6, Autonomous Administration in northern and north-eastern Syria issued a series of decrees in areas under its control concerning precautionary measures to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus.

One of the new decrees extended the general curfew in Autonomous Administration-held areas until the 21st of April 2020, agricultural and veterinary pharmacies and stores of repairing and selling spare parts of farming machineries were exempted from this decree.

The second decree ordered the suspension of military conscription for three months in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.
