“De-escalation zone” | Exchange of fire and clashes continue between regime forces and rebels in southern Idlib

SOHR sources reported that clashes continued between regime forces and oppositions factions on Al-Ftera frontline until the early hours of Thursday morning. However, regime forces which attacked the area have not achieved any advances.

Meanwhile, regime forces renewed rocket attacks on positions in Jabal Al-Zawyiah. No casualties have been reported.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the killing of a rebel and the injury of others in clashes on Fatira frontline in Idlib countryside. Four regime soldiers and loyalists were also killed in the same clashes.

According to Observatory sources, a group of regime forces infiltrated into the factions’ positions on Al-Fatira frontline where the factions managed to repel the regime’s attack leaving the attackers dead or wounded.

Meanwhile, regime forces tried to recover the fatalities and wounded from the site of the attack, along with intensive ground firepower by regime forces stationed in Idlib countryside.

On the other hand, clashes took place with heavy and medium machine guns between regime forces and opposition factions, on Afis frontline east of Idlib. No casualties were reported.
