Ras al-Ain | Factional clashes stopped and Ahrar al-Sharqiya intervenes to end the feud

SOHR sources say that the clashes between Turkish-backed factions stopped hours after they erupted. Reinforcement of Ahrar al-Sharqiya arrived in the city and were deployed there, closing all roads and entrances to the city of Ras al-Ain to stop clashes between Al-Hamzat and Sultan Murad factions.

SOHR sources said earlier that four members of Turkish-backed armed factions were killed in renewed clashes between Al-Hamzat and Sultan Murad factions in Ras al-Ain (Sari Kani). Clashes with machine guns and RPJs renewed after about an hour of cessation. The calm coincided with the intervention of Turkish forces and civilian police to stop the fighting, which was renewed after both sides refused to reconcile.

The clashes are taking place in residential neighbourhoods, causing damage to many homes and citizens’ property.

According to Observatory sources, a dispute erupted over the seizure of a displaced person’s home from the city, resulted in the death of a collaborator with Al-Sultan Murad faction. The dispute evolved into armed clashes resulted in human and material losses.

Meanwhile, the clashes resulted in cutting off the power line at the Aluk plant and damaging the electrical conductors.

SOHR activists have documented the killing of a girl due to fierce clashes between groups of the Turkish-backed faction “Sultan Murad” in residential neighbourhoods in Ras Al-Ain city (Sere Kaniye) in north-western Al-Hasakah.
