Strike in SDF-held areas four days on | Oil workers in Deir Ezzor call for pay rise and demand SDF improve management of oil fields

Syrian Observatory activists have reported that workers in the SDF-controlled oil fields of “Al-Omar, Al-Tank, Al-Koniko and Al-Jafrah” in Deir Ezzor province, are still continuing their strike on the fourth consecutive day. The oil workers call for pay rise and salaries being paid in US dollars, or the equivalent in Syrian pound. They also demand the improvement of treatment of oil workers and replace the military commanders, responsible for the management of oil fields, with a civil administration.

A few days ago, SOHR sources Observatory activists have monitored tens of people participating in a demonstration in the SDF-controlled village of Gharanij in the eastern countryside of Daraa. The demonstrators demanded the disclosure of the fate of the village’s people who have been detained in SDF prisons. The demonstrators lifted signboards with “we sacrifice our soul and blood for you, prisoner” writing on them. They also lifted posters of prisoners in SDF custody.
