Drones target Turkish positions in Syria: monitor

Unknown drones targeted positions of Turkish forces and allied Syrian rebels in northern Syria on Monday, a war monitor reported.

The drones targeted the village of Shakhat in the countryside of Hasakah province in northeastern Syria and the Hamam village in the countryside of the northern province of Raqqa, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The UK-based watchdog group said no information has yet emerged about losses or the identity of the drones.

Turkish forces and allied Syrian rebels have controlled several areas in northern Syria following an offensive last October against areas controlled by the Kurdish militia of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
