Explosions in Turkish-controlled areas | IED goes off in north-eastern Aleppo, causing material damage

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have reported hearing an explosion in Al-Bab area which is under the control of the Turkish forces and their proxies in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo. The explosion was caused by the detonation of an IED this morning on the road between Al-Bab city and Qabasin town, which caused material damage only.

On July 5, SOHR sources said that a group of doctors from al-Bab and the local council staged a protest demanding security services protect medical staff in the light of escalating security chaos in the area.

It is worth noting that one of the patients’ companions opened fire on a nurse inside al-Farabi Maternity and Children Hospital in Al-Bab. No civilian casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, al-Farabi hospital and the medical organization “Seema”, which supports it, condemned the armed attack on the hospital’s staff.

The hospital administration also decided to suspend work for one or two days as a part of condemnation of the incident.

Al-Farabi Hospital is one of the most important hospitals in the areas under the control of Turkish-backed factions, and it is specialized in obstetrics, gynaecology and pediatrics.

Moreover, two civilians were injured in al-Bab city, as they were shot after a verbal altercation with gunmen from the city.
