Escalating ground shelling | Regime rocket fire pounds nearly ten villages and towns in southern Idlib

As regime rocket attacks have been recently escalated on several towns and villages in the southern countryside of Idlib, SOHR activists have monitored intensive shelling since the early hours of Thursday morning targeting Kansafra, Al-bara, Sfuhen, Al-Ftera, bayanin, Deir Sonbol, Al-Ruwayha, Mantaf and Sarjeh. No casualties have been reported yet.

It is worth noting that civilians continue to return to many of these towns and villages after being forced to displace because of the latest military operations by Russian and regime forces.

SOHR sources monitored earlier this morning renewed clashes, accompanied by exchange of fire, on Al-Fterah frontline in the southern countryside of Idlib between regime forces and loyalists on one hand, and opposition factions and jihadi groups in the other. Meanwhile, regime forces shelled places in Sfuhen, Fulayfel, Al-Fterah in southern Idlib, and the vicinity of Al-Manarah in Sahl Al-Ghab last night and this morning.

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented the killing of a member of the “National Liberation Front” (NLF) after being targeted with a guided missile fired by regime forces, while he was participating in erecting barriers nearby the 46th Regiment in the western countryside of Aleppo. SOHR activists also reported seeing Russian reconnaissance drones flying over Idlib city.
