Turkish-backed mercenaries | Turkey keeps sending Syrian fighters to Libya, and nearly 35 children among 470 killed so far
Syrian activists have monitored the return of a new batch of Turkish-backed Syrian mercenaries from Libya to Syria as their as contracts expired. Meanwhile, Turkey has sent a new batch of Syrian fighters of Turkish-backed factions to join the military operations in Libya on the side of the “Government of National Accord” against the “Libyan National Army” led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.
Accordingly, the number of recruits who arrived in Libya has risen to 15,800 Syrian mercenaries, of whom 5,600 returned to Syria, while Turkey keeps recruiting more mercenaries bringing them to Turkish territory to undergo military training.
Meanwhile, SOHR activists have documented the killing of more Syrian fighters while participating in clashes on Libyan territories, bringing the number of Turkish-backed Syrian mercenaries who were killed in military operations in Libya to nearly 470, including 33 children under the age of eighteen, as well as some group commanders.
