Instability in Daraa | Uncertainty surrounds the kidnapping of two members of the 5th Corps in eastern countryside

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: reliable sources have told the Syrian Observatory that unknown gunmen have kidnapped two members of the Russian-backed 5th Corps. The two members were kidnapped in the early hours of Saturday morning and their fate has been still unknown. No further details have been reported yet about the reasons behind this action or the identity of the kidnappers.

 

On July 9, SOHR sources said that a verbal argument broke out between members of the Russian-backed 5th Corps and regime soldiers stationed at a checkpoint in Bosr Al-Harir town in Daraa province.

 

The altercation evolved to the point where the 5th Corps members beat one of the soldiers stationed at the regime’s checkpoint. The regime soldier lost consciousness and he was taken later to a hospital in the town.

 

After this incident, all regime checkpoints on the road between Bosr Al-Harir and Izraa’ were seen on high alert, along with a state of security alert by the 5th Corps members in Bosr Al-Sham.
