Military build up | Popular Mobilization militias bring in new military and logistical reinforcement to Iranian-held areas in Al-Bokamal
Syrian Observatory sources have monitored the entry of new military and logistical reinforcement affiliated to the Popular Mobilization Forces to the Iranian-held areas in Al-Bokamal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor from Iraq. The reinforcement included military personnel, vehicles, and logistical supplies.
Meanwhile, reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that reports on aerial attacks on Iranian positions in Al-Bokamal in the past 48 hours are completely false.
On July 7, SOHR sources said that tens of the regime-backed militiamen defected from the “National Defense Forces” (NDF) and joined an Iranian-backed militia. 43 militiamen of the relatives of (Akram Ahmed Al-Akram Al-Khudur), the commander of an Iranian-backed tribal militia dubbed “Al-Sheikh Akram Brigade”, broken away from NDF and joined Al-Akram’s militia, after being offered financial incentives and additional powers by the militia’s commander.
