Syrian desert | Russian jets renew intensive airstrikes on ISIS positions

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored renewed airstrikes by Russian jets on ISIS positions in the Syrian desert. These aerial attacks coincide with daily clashes between ISIS members and regime forces, which are mainly concentrated in Al-Sukhnah desert and the triangle of “Aleppo-Hama-Al-Raqqah” as a part of ISIS escalating resurgence.

In July 7, Observatory sources said that fierce clashes continued between regime forces and ISIS, as a part of ISIS ongoing attacks on regime positions in the triangle of “Aleppo-Hama-Al-Raqqah”. The clashes, accompanied by exchange of fire between the two sides, coincided with Russian airstrikes in an attempt to repel a fierce ISIS attack.

SOHR activists documented the killing of 11 regime soldiers and loyalists at that time, while 13 ISIS members were also killed in clashes and bombardment in the same period, amid confirmed reports about more casualties on both sides.
