Daraa | Central Committee member dies of injuries sustained, and unknown explosion near regime military checkpoint in Daraa al-Mahata

Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that a member of the Central Committee in Daraa died of injuries he sustained this evening, after being targeted with his companion in the city of Jassim in Daraa countryside.

The Syrian Observatory has documented earlier the killing of the companion of the Central Committee member, as a result of being targeted by unidentified gunmen.

On the other hand, an explosion occurred in Daraa al-Mahata, near the Daraa national hospital at the regime checkpoint “Al-Awo”, followed by heavy gunfire, without knowing the causes.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, mines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from past June to date, to more than 559 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 369 persons, 94 of whom are civilians, including nine women and nine children, in addition to 179 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

57 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 19 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 19 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
