Shop owners in Idlib markets go on strike, protesting security chaos and deteriorating living conditions in HTS-held areas

Owners of supermarkets, clothing stores, currency exchange shops and jewelry stores started a strike this morning in Idlib city, protesting the escalating security chaos and deteriorating living conditions as Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham dominates the area’s economy and trade, including the exchange market.

Yesterday, reliable SOHR sources  confirmed that the “executive forces” of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham deployed in Idlib city in order to break up clashes between a group of the city’s people and another group of displaced people from Maarrat Al-Nu’man. According to SOHR sources, HTS security forces arrested several people of those who take part in armed fight and blocked streets in the city during the riot and clashes a day earlier.

SOHR activists also monitored masked men destroying and vandalizing shops during these clashes.
