Al-Hasakah | Russian forces and SDF ask regime forces to leave a village in Tal Tamr, after repeated incidents of blocking US patrols

Reliable sources have told SOHR that a trilateral meeting, attended by Russian forces, Syria Democratic Forces and regime forces, was held yesterday in the Russian base in Mabaqir area in Tal Tamr.

 

According to SOHR sources, the meeting comes in the wake of the recent tension in the areas of northern and eastern Syria, after blocking US patrols by regime forces. The latest incident of such skirmishes yesterday when a regime officer threatened to burn a US patrol if it passed again on the same way. This incident took place while the US patrol was passing through a military checkpoint in  Mansaf Tahtani village in Tal Tamer countryside.

 

Russian forces and SDF gave the regime forces a time limit of seven days to evacuate the village where the incident took place, they also demanded regime forces evacuate the residential neighbourhoods in rural Tal Tamr of their members. SDF command also demanded that regime forces have to coordinate with the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) when there is a state of tension with US forces.

 

Yesterday, SOHR activists said that a regime officer threatened to burn a US patrol if it returned to the area, while it was in Mansaf Tahtani village in Tal Tamer countryside in the previous day.

 

According to Observatory sources, the officer is a captain of the 53rd Brigade deployed in the village of Mansaf Tahtani.

 

On Saturday, SOHR activists reported that a U.S. patrol returned to the city of Tal Tamer, after being blocked by pro-regime protesters in the villages of Al-Sibat, Tal Shamiran and Mansaf Tahtani in the countryside of Al-Hasakeh. Dozens of residents and regime forces gathered in those villages, expressing their rejection of the American forces’ presence and demanding them leave their villages.
