Escalating bombardment | Regime forces renew intensive shelling on Jabal Al-Zawiyah

Syrian Observatory sources have reported that regime forces fired nearly 30 rockets and artillery shells this morning, targeting places in Al-Bara, Kansafra, and other areas in Jabal Al-Zawiyah. No casualties heave been reported.

SOHR sources monitored earlier this morning tense calm prevailing throughout the “de-escalation zone” since the early hours of Wednesday morning, interrupted by regime artillery fire on villages in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside of Idlib.

This calm came after yesterday’s intensive bombardment, as Russian jets executed nearly 25 airstrikes, 12 of which hit Jabal Al-Akrad, while the rest airstrikes hit places in Kafr Oweid, Sfuhen, Sarjila, Al-bara and its vicinity, and Bayanin in southern Idlib.

SOHR activists also documented yesterday the death of a man and his son and the injury of three others in a rocket attack by regime forces on Ariha city in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Meanwhile, SOHR activists monitored new displacement movement in Ariha city and other villages in Jabal Al-Zawiyah, as civilians fleeing from the intensive bombardment by regime ground forces and Russian jets.
