IED attacks | Two persons killed or wounded in Damascus explosion

A person was killed and another one was injured because of the explosion of two IEDs near Anas Ibn Malek mosque in Nahr Aysha area in the capital, Damascus. The identity of the killed person has yet to be known whether being a civilian or a soldier.

 

The region of Damascus and its countryside experiences spreading of Iranian-backed militias and the Lebanese Hezbollah.

 

On July 14, reliable sources informed SOHR that unknown gunmen attacked a checkpoint of the regime’s military security services on the outskirts of Kanaker town in the western Rif Dimashq.

 

According to SOHR sources, the attack left three regime soldiers injured, as it was followed by exchange of fire between the attackers and regime soldiers stationed at the checkpoint for nearly one hour and half, before regime reinforcement arrived.

 

Regime forces were not able to arrest the attackers, while local sources in Kanaker town said that the gunmen who attacked the checkpoint were deployed on the town’s outskirts and that all of them were putting on masks.
