Security chaos in Daraa | New explosions hit countryside

SOHR activists have reported hearing an explosion in the town of Da’il in the central Daraa countryside, at midnight yesterday. No further information on the nature and circumstances of the explosion has been reported yet.

Meanwhile, a grenade exploded in the town of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa, after being thrown by unknown assailants in the town. No casualties have been reported.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, mines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from past June to date, to more than 575 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 380 persons, 103 of whom are civilians, including 12 women and 11 children, in addition to 181 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

57 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 19 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 19 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
