Security campaign in eastern Deir ez-Zor | SDF arrests two ISIS members, one of whom is Iraqi

SOHR sources say that the SDF security campaign in the eastern areas of Deir ez-Zor countryside continues for the fourth day.

Checkpoints are still deployed at the entrances to cities, towns, main streets and schools where SDF was stationed at the beginning of the campaign, in the city of Al-Busayrah, the town of Al-Shahail, the villages of Al-Zar and Abriha in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Meanwhile, the region’s markets have also experienced normal activities today as civilians go out to meet their needs.

On the other hand, SDF, on Sunday evening, arrested two members of the Islamic State, one of them is Iraqi, in the village of Al-Zar in eastern rural Deir al-Zour.

Yesterday, reliable sources told the Syrian Observatory that SDF stormed and destroyed six river crossings and confiscated the ferries through which most of the fuel and crude oil supplies are transported.

Islamic State members and various types of weapons are also smuggled via these crossings.

These crossings link the areas of Al-Shuhayl, Hawaij and Al-Zar, which controlled by SDF, with areas on the other bank which are administratively a part of the city of Al-Mayadeen, which is controlled by the regime forces and militias loyalists. This raid comes as a part of SDF security campaign in Deir ez-Zor countryside.
