Israeli attacks | 16 Iranian-backed militiamen and regime soldiers killed or wounded in strikes on military positions south of Damascus
Syrian Observatory activists have documented several fatalities in the Israeli strikes on southern and south-western Damascus last night. Five Iranian-backed non-Syrian militiamen were killed and four others injured, but it is not known whether the fatalities and casualties were of Iranian nationality or affiliates of the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Moreover, seven members of the regime’s “air-defence forces” were injured, two seriously. Meanwhile, a missiles depot was destroyed as the Israeli strikes hit positions, weapons and ammunition warehouses in southern and south-western Damascus.
On June 28, Observatory sources reported that new Israeli airstrikes hit positions of Iranian forces and Iranian-backed Syrian and non-Syrian militias in the desert of Al-Sayyal in the countryside of Al-Bokamal city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The attack left at least nine Iranian-backed militiamen dead, including non-Syrian militiamen. The attacks also injured several other militiamen, some seriously, and destroyed ammunition depots.
