This brings the number of infected people to 17 in Idlib province, which is under the control of HTS.

According to Observatory statistics, the number of confirmed cases, since July 9 to date, rose to 26, including medical staff. The cases are broken down by region as follows: 17 cases in Idlib and countryside, and nine cases in the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions.

Reliable sources have told the Syrian Observatory that the “Ministry of the Internal Affairs” of the “Salvation Government” in northern Syria closed the entrances of Sarmin town in the eastern countryside of Idlib and quarantined the town’s residents, on recommendation and instructions from the “Health Ministry”.

This development came after a lady from the town was confirmed infected with the novel coronavirus, after she had returned from regime-controlled areas.
