SOHR activists have reported that SDF’s counter-terrorism forces arrested a group of people, a few days ago, one of them an official in SDF intelligence and the other of Iranian nationality who had joined the ranks of SDF during the battles of Ain al-Arab (Kobane) against the Islamic State, and the third person is a civilian from Al-Raqqa province.
According to Observatory sources, the three people have been involved in armed robberies and car smuggling from SDF-held areas to the areas of the “Euphrates Shield”.
The three persons were charged with a murder took place a year ago, against two SDF members on the Manbij-Raqqah road. The two members were thrown into a well and the car they were travelling in was burned, after stealing a large sum of money estimated at $2 million.
SOHR activists reported earlier that unidentified gunmen broke into the house of a contractor in Raqqa city, seriously injuring him. The gunmen also stole a large sum of money estimated at $200,000 from his home.
This comes one week after a similar robbery targeting the city’s capital owners.
