The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

For first time in months | Ankara-backed factions shell abu Rasin (Zarkan), amid wave of displacement

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored, on Monday morning, a rocket attack by Ankara-backed factions on the town of Abu Rasin (Zarkan) in Al-Hasakeh countryside. The town was targeted with shells and heavy machine guns, injuring a civilian, after which regime forces responded to fire and shelling the positions of the factions in the countryside of the area.

Meanwhile, a number of residents were displaced from the town after the shelling. It is worth nothing that the town has not been shelled for months.

On January 23, the Syrian Observatory monitored a rocket attack by Turkish forces, targeting the village of Bab al-Khair and other areas in Abu Rasin countryside, north of Al-Hasakeh. No casualties were reported.
