Military build-up in Ras Al-Ain | Clashes erupt between SDF and Turkish-backed factions on several frontlines, as two sides put on high alert
SOHR sources say that Turkish-backed factions stationed in the villages of Um Ushba and Bab al-Khair on the one hand, and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with regime forces stationed in Abu Racine and countryside on the other, were put on high alert.
This development coincided with massive military reinforcement by the two sides on those frontlines.
Clashes with machine guns were also heard on the frontlines of Tal Tamer countryside and the village of Al-Qasimiyah.
On July 27, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a rocket attack by Ankara-backed factions on the town of Abu Rasin (Zarkan) in Al-Hasakeh countryside. The town was targeted with shells and heavy machine guns, injuring a civilian, after which regime forces responded to fire and shelling the positions of the factions in the countryside of the area.
Meanwhile, a number of residents were displaced from the town after the shelling.
On January 23, the Syrian Observatory monitored a rocket attack by Turkish forces, targeting the village of Bab al-Khair and other areas in Abu Rasin countryside, north of Al-Hasakeh. No casualties were reported.
