Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) blasts | Four explosions in one week kill or injure nearly 50 persons, mostly civilians

SOHR activists have documented a spike in the number of people who were killed in yesterday’s explosion of a booby-trapped motorcycle in Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye), as the total number of fatalities has risen to three (two civilians and a rebel fighter). According to SOHR statistics, 15 persons mostly civilians were killed in four explosions which hit Ras Al-Ain city in just one week. The explosions also injured at least 32 persons, some seriously.

This series of successive blasts was initiated on July 22 with a car-bomb explosion near Al-Jawzah roundabout and near the “Civil Council” building. The explosion killed four civilians at that time, including a woman, and injured ten others. Two days later, a booby-trapped motorcycle exploded in Ras Al-Ain city, which caused material damage only.

On July 26, a booby-trapped motorcycle exploded near the city’s fodder storehouse, which killed eight people, including a child and a woman, and injured 19 others. Meanwhile, three persons were killed in the fourth blast which took place yesterday after the explosion of a booby-trapped vehicle.
