HTS opens secret smuggling road near Saraqeb and provides medicines to its areas at high prices

The areas controlled by the “Salvation Government” are experiencing a dramatic rise in medicines’ prices, in the absence of oversight and the proliferation of unlicensed pharmacies run by non-specialists or false certificates’ holders.

Observatory sources have reported a large quantities and various varieties of medicines have become available at high prices, after they were lost from pharmacies in the past weeks.

These medicines are smuggled between regime-controlled areas and HTS-held area near the city of Saraqeb, where they are passed through secret roads belonging to the HTS. Fuel, food, medicine and human beings are also smuggled.

Yesterday, the Salvation Government’s Ministry of Health has issued a decree asking the owners of medicine stores to check with the ministry to obtain the necessary licenses to practice the profession legally.
