Abuse of power | Member of regime’s security services shoot dead young man in Al-Mazra’a neighbourhood in Damascus

Reliable SOHR sources have reported that a member of the regime’s security services opened a young man while being in his car in Al-Mazra’a neighbourhood in Damascus city center. It is worth noting that the victim is the son of a former female athlete champion.

On July 3, reliable SOHR sources in Damascus confirmed that the incidents of kidnapping children by unknown individuals became an increasingly pressing concern for civilians in Syria’s capital, Damascus.

As such incidents recently escalated, SOHR activists said that last week’s kidnappings took place in “Al-Thalath Anzat” park (the Three Goats park) and “Al-Thurayya” park in Al-Maydan neighborhood, the major park and “Jame’ Al-Ansari” park in Al-Zahra neighbourhood, Nirmin park in Al-Muhajireen neighbourhood, and “Tanzim Kafr Susah” park.

The kidnapped children aged less than ten, which spread broad fear among the residents for the fate of their children, specially since there were no contact between the kidnappers and relatives of the kidnapped children.

Accordingly, the relatives of kidnapped children suffered from breakdowns, as its common, in such incidents, that the kidnapper calls the family of the kidnapped child trying to extort them and force them pay money in return for releasing the kidnapped.

Meanwhile, concerns grew over the possibility that “organ trade” was the reason behind these kidnappings, especially with the deteriorating security chaos throughout regime-controlled areas, and the deployment of ally armed militias (some backed by Russia and others backed by Iran and regime forces). Such militias used to be completely out of control of regime forces.
