Escalating violence | Regime forces shell Idlib countryside, and tense calm continues in Jabal al-Akrad
SOHR sources say that regime forces stationed in Idlib countryside shelled the town of Kansafra and Deir Sonbul village in the southern Idlib countryside.
SOHR sources say that tense calm returned to Jabal Al-Akrad frontlines in the north-eastern Latakia countryside, following two attempts to advance by regime forces and fierce clashes with the fighting and Islamic factions lasted for about 12 hours on the frontline of the strategic hill of Al-Haddada, which overlooks the western countryside of Jisr al-Shughour and the town of Bdama on the Aleppo-Latakia road.
SOHR sources reported hours ago that fierce clashes were underway between opposition factions and jihadi groups on one hand, and regime forces and loyalists on the other, on several frontlines in Al-Haddadah in Jabal Al-Akrad, north of Latakia.
The clashes came as a part of the fierce attack unleashed by regime forces under a cover of intensive rocket fire, along with intensive airstrikes by Russian jets on conflict zones and other positions in Jabal Al-Akrad.
The Syrian Observatory has documented the killing of 12 regime soldiers and loyal militiamen and the wounding of more than 17 others.
Four HTS members and two of the National Front were also killed.
