“De-escalation zone” | Rebels and regime forces trade fire in southern Idlib

Regime forces fired several rockets this morning, targeting areas in Kansafra, Al-Faterah, Al-Mawzara and other areas in Jabal Al-Zawiyah. Meanwhile, opposition factions shelled regime positions in Kafr Nubl and Hantotin in the southern countryside of Idlib.

On the other hand, SOHR activists have documented the killing of a fighter of “Suqur Al-Sham” due to regime artillery fire on Bayanin frontlines in southern Idlib. Moreover, opposition factions shot down a reconnaissance drone in Maarbalit.

Yesterday, SOHR sources said that regime forces stationed in Idlib countryside shelled Kansafra town and Deir Sonbol village in south Idlib countryside.

SOHR sources also reported that tense calm returned to Jabal Al-Akrad frontlines in the north-eastern countryside of Latakia, following two attempts by regime forces to advance into opposition factions’ positions as well as fierce clashes with rebel and Islamic factions which lasted for nearly 12 hours on the frontline of Al-Haddada. The key hill of Al-Haddada overlooks the western countryside of Jisr al-Shughour and the town of Bdama on Aleppo-Latakia highway.
