Members of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” assault displaced family in Afrin and open fire on civil police

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that members of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” assaulted a family that has been displaced from eastern Ghouta to Afrin city in western Aleppo.

According to SOHR sources, dispute flared up over the possession of a house, which evolved later to hand-to-hand fight between the factions’ members and members of the displaced family. The rebels beat young men of the family, then members of the civil police intervened to break up the fight between the two sides. The factions’ members opened fire on the police to terrorize them then they escapade.

On August 1, SOHR sources said that members of the Turkish-backed “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiya” kidnapped a young man from Afrin three days earlier from his workplace in Afrin city, north of Aleppo. The factions’ members accused him of seizing a shop previously belonged to the “Autonomous Administration”.

The young man was released after paying a ransom of about $6,000.
