Security campaign | SDF arrest six civilians in Al-Shuhayl town for unknown reasons
Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: reliable sources have informed the Syrian observatory that Syria Democratic Forces stormed Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor this morning. The security forces have arrested six civilians, including a family of five persons.
According to SOHR sources, SDF burnt down one of the arrested people’s house after driving the inhabitants out. The reasons behind these arrests have yet to be known.
Yesterday, SOHR activists said that several dignitaries and elders from the areas of Theban, Al-Shuhayl and the head of al-Ekaydat tribe met with U.S. representatives in Al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor countryside, to discuss the service situations and the developments in the region.
U.S. side vowed to continue investigations to uncover the perpetrators of the assassinations of tribal elders.
On the other hand, SDF established several checkpoints and boosted positions in all villages of the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, a few hours after the anti-SDF demonstrations in Al-Busayrah city, the towns of Al-Shuhayl, Theban and Al-Hawayij village. SDF imposed curfew in several areas under their control in eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
SOHR sources reported earlier that afternoon that the tribe of “Ekaydat” in Deir Ezzor province gave SDF and the International Coalition a time limit of one month to arrest individuals who killed the tribe-affiliated elder “Matshar Hammoud Al-Hafl”. In a statement it issued, the tribe confirmed that it would behave according to what it deemed appropriate for the protection of land and properties.
