Statement | Tribal dignitaries and elders in southern Al-Hasakah condemn assassinations in Deir Ezzor, calling to renounce strife

Several tribal dignitaries and elders from the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah issued a statement, announcing their support to Syria Democratic Forces and stressing on renouncing strife in the area. The statement also condemned the recent dramatic developments in Deir Ezzor, including the assassinations which targeted tribal dignitaries and elders.

 

A few hours ago, SOHR activists monitored the residents of Al-Tabaqah city in the western countryside of Al-Raqqah participating in a demonstration against the Syrian regime, Iranian forces and Iranian-backed militias. The demonstrations expressed rejection to the presence of the Syrian regime and Iranian militias in their areas and all of Syria’s geography.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that Several dignitaries and elders of Al-Raqqah tribes issued a statement after a meeting in the guesthouse of one of these elders, in which they expressed their complete rejection to the policy of the Syrian regime and Iranian forces. They also stressed on their full support to Al-Ekaydat tribe, demanding SDF open a comprehensive investigation about the murder of a prominent elder of Al-Ekaydat. Moreover, they confirmed their support to SDF.
