After stopping for nearly 20 days | Russian and Turkish forces conduct joint patrol on Latakia-Aleppo international road

The Syrian Observatory has monitored a large deployment of Turkish forces along the Latakia-Aleppo international highway in Idlib countryside. After which a joint patrol between Turkish forces and their Russian counterpart has set off from the village of Tarnaba, east of Idlib, to the area of Ain Hoor, which is controlled by the factions on the “M4” road in northern countryside of Latakia.

It is worth nothing that this joint patrol conducted after about 20 days of the previous one.

On August 5, the Syrian Observatory monitored Turkish forces deploying in several areas in Idlib countryside, on the Aleppo-Latakia road, known as “M4”. Turkish forces withdrew from those sites after inspecting them.

According to Observatory sources, these security measures by Turkish forces on the “Aleppo-Latakia” road come as part of securing the road to joint patrols with Russian forces.

On July 29, reliable sources told SOHR that the Russian-Turkish joint patrol, supposed to tour Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4), has been canceled for the second consecutive day for unknown reasons. Meanwhile, Turkish forces conducted a patrol alone on the M4 highway, starting from Al-Nayreb to Ain Hoor village in Latakia countryside.
