Ma’abatli | Ankara-backed factions clamp down on Afrin residents, arresting several people

Turkish-backed factions continue to clamp down on residents in all areas of “Olive Branch” in north-western Aleppo countryside, amid continued Turkish silence over ongoing violations.

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that armed members of the Ankara-backed “National Army” arrested five people from the village of “Premja” in Ma’abatli district in rural Afrin, north-west of Aleppo, after raiding their homes in the village and taking them to an unknown destination, without explaining the reasons for the arrest.

On August 10, SOHR sources reported that Turkish intelligence had arrested three elderly people from the village of “Shaudyra” in the area of “Jandiras” in Afrin countryside in north-west Aleppo, taking them to an unknown destination without knowing the reasons.
