New prisoners swap | Regime forces and HTS swap prisoners in western Aleppo countryside

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored this afternoon a prisoner swap between regime forces and HTS in western countryside of Aleppo. Regime forces have released seven female detainees in return for the release of a regime officer and two civilians of the Shiite community. The prisoner swap took place at Marnaz-Ma’ara al-Na’asan crossing, west of Aleppo city.

On August 12, Syrian Observatory activists confirmed that a prisoner swap took place between the Turkish-backed “National Army” and regime forces nearby Azaz city in northern Aleppo. Regime forces have released a rebel in return for the release of a woman “spying for the regime forces and Hezbollah”.

It is worth noting that the opposition fighter who was released by regime forces, had been arrested by Kurdish forces in Afrin and he was handed in later to regime forces before the Kurds left the city.
