Efforts to ignite popular and military uprising against SDF | Regime forces meet with dignitaries of Al-Akidat tribe at al-Qamishli airport

Reliable sources have told the Syrian Observatory that representatives of the Syrian regime forces met today with loyal dignitaries of Al-Akidat clan, at Qamishli airport in the regime-controlled areas in Al-Hasakeh countryside.

According to Observatory sources, regime forces are seeking to create a popular uprising against the SDF, arming the youths to form a tribal military council to expel SDF from the area.

SOHR sources had reported earlier that “Zubayd tribes meeting”, organized by the head of “Al-Ekaydat” tribe “Sheikh Mus’aab Khalil Al-Hafal”, was held in Theban town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The meeting discussed the general situation in Deir Ezzor and the deteriorating security chaos in the area. The meeting was concluded by a statement by Al-Ekaydat tribe in which it accused Syria Democratic Forces of “failure to manage the military, civilian and economical affairs in the area”. The statement, of which the Syrian Observatory has received a copy, focused on the following points:

“1- The International Coalition to bear responsibility for the security chaos and instability in Deir Ezzor, since it is in charge of the de facto authority.

2- An independent and professional investigation commission to be formed in order to investigate the murder of “Sheikh Matshar Al-Hafal”.

3- The administration of Deir Ezzor province to be turned to the province’s people, with no guardianship by any body else.

4- All innocent detainees to be released, and women and children to be allowed to leave refugee camps.

5- Calls upon the International Coalition and all active actors to accelerate the political process in Syria to reach a solution so soon.

6- One month to be given to apply these demands, starting from the date of this statement.”
