Al-Hasakah | Uncertainty surrounds the death of person in the Autonomous Administration prison

SOHR activists have documented the death of a person in a prison of the Autonomous Administration in an area under its control. The victim was arrested eight months ago by the Autonomous Administration’s intelligence for “spying for the Syrian regime”. It is worth noting that the person, who has been a regime soldier in “Kawkab Regiment” in Al-Hasakah province, is from Al-Safa village of Al-Jawadiyyah district in the eastern countryside of Al-Qamishli.

According to SOHR sources, the victim had no ties to the regime’s security services. While no confirmed information has been reported about the reasons behind his death, whether he was tortured to death in the prison, died of natural causes, or died of a disease he suffered form.
