Daraa | Unknown gunmen try to assassinate former opposition fighter, and others target military vehicle in western Daraa

Daraa governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that unidentified gunmen on motorcycles targeted a former member of the opposition factions in the area of Saham al-Golan in Daraa countryside, seriously injuring him.

Meanwhile, unknown assailants targeted a military vehicle of regime forces on the road between Jilleen residences and Sheikh Saad in the western countryside of Daraa. No casualties have been reported so far.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, mines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from past June to date, to more than 616 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 409 persons, 109 of whom are civilians, including 12 women and 12 children, in addition to 187 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

72 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 22 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 19 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
